Food & Community

Empanadas, milanesas, alfajores and a sunny outdoor terrace at Woking & Horsell Cricket Club. Here is everything you need to know about Clara's Cocina.

There are not many places in Woking where you can sit outside in the sun, watch cricket on the field, and eat food that tastes like it has just come out of a Buenos Aires kitchen. Clara's Cocina is one of them — and if you have not found us yet, here is what you have been missing.

Tucked into Woking & Horsell Cricket Club, Clara's Cocina brings proper Argentine cooking to a corner of Surrey that was probably not expecting it. Relaxed, unpretentious and genuinely delicious — with enough outdoor space to actually enjoy a sunny afternoon rather than just sit next to a window and wish you were outside.

What's on the menu

Argentine cooking is built for sharing — generous portions, bold flavours, and dishes that work just as well passed around the table as eaten on your own. Our menu is built the same way.

Empanadas

The heart of the menu. Pastry parcels filled with spiced beef, chicken or vegetables — golden, crispy and deeply satisfying. A staple of Argentine cooking and the thing most people come back for.

Milanesas

Breaded and fried beef or chicken, tender inside and crisp outside. Served with fresh salad or fries, these are proper Argentine home cooking — the kind of dish you do not forget.

Sharing plates

Chimichurri-dressed meats, fresh salads and seasonal sides — designed to be passed around and eaten together. Exactly how Argentine food is meant to be enjoyed.

Alfajores

Two soft cookies sandwiching a generous layer of dulce de leche. The perfect end to any meal — and genuinely difficult to eat just one.

"Proper Argentine food, a sunny terrace, and cricket in the background. Some combinations just work."

A place for everyone

Clara's Cocina works for a lot of different people in a lot of different situations — a relaxed weekday lunch, a family afternoon out, a long catch-up over coffee, or just somewhere to sit outside and eat well without having to book weeks in advance or spend a fortune.

Dogs are welcome too. Our outdoor terrace is built for a slower pace — the kind of afternoon that starts with empanadas and ends with alfajores and a second coffee without anyone trying to hurry you along.

Opening hours

Open 9am – 4pm

Where to find us

Part of something bigger

Being based at the cricket club is not just a location detail — it shapes what Clara's Cocina feels like. There is something easy and unforced about eating well while life carries on around you. A match on the field, kids running about, neighbours bumping into each other. It is the kind of community atmosphere that is genuinely rare and genuinely hard to manufacture, and we feel lucky to be part of it.

If you have not visited yet — or if it has been a while — come and find us. The empanadas will be ready.
